I don’t need every feature. Is there a smaller plan?

Yes. Depending on your vehicle, you can choose the services that matter most to you. Protect focuses on safety and security, while Essentials gives you the complete connected experience. Let me check your vehicle and recommend the best fit. 

Why is Essentials AED 145 for one vehicle and AED 209 for another?

Pricing reflects what’s already included with your vehicle. Some MY27 vehicles already include OnStar Basics, so Essentials is priced accordingly. I can confirm your vehicle’s eligibility and exactly what your plan includes. 

I already have Connect included for three years. Why pay for Essentials?

Connect gives you eligible Remote Commands. Essentials adds eligible Wi‑Fi, entertainment and OnStar safety and security services — the parts of the vehicle you have already paid for but cannot use yet. 

Can I add Protect without losing my included Connect?

Where eligible, yes. Your included Connect stays active and Protect adds safety, security and Advisor support. For the best overall value, Essentials brings Connect, Protect, Wi-Fi and entertainment together in one plan. 

If GM already included services, why should I pay for more?

Your included services are the starting point, not the ceiling. Essentials builds on them with eligible Wi-Fi, entertainment, convenience and protection in one connected experience. 

Does three years of Connect include three years of Wi‑Fi?

No. On MY26 and older vehicles, Connect and Wi-Fi are separate. Essentials is the plan that brings eligible in-vehicle Wi-Fi together with the broader connected services.

I already paid for the vehicle. Why do I need a subscription?

You have paid for the hardware, and it is fitted. The plan keeps the services behind it live, much like a smartphone needs a plan to stay connected. 

I only want Wi‑Fi. Can I buy it separately?

Standalone monthly Wi-Fi is no longer offered. In-vehicle Wi-Fi now sits within Essentials, so you’ll get eligible in‑vehicle Wi‑Fi plus connectivity, convenience and protection, all for one price. 

Will every Essentials feature work in my vehicle?

Feature availability depends on model year, equipment and infotainment capability.
