How to Change or Cancel Your OnStar Plan

Whether you want to activate, renew, change, or cancel—managing your OnStar plan is simple and flexible.
Life changes, and so can your OnStar® plan. Whether you’re starting fresh, renewing your services, upgrading to get more features, or even canceling, you can take care of it all online in just a few steps.
And if you’d rather talk it through, pressing the blue OnStar button connects you directly with an Advisor who can help you explore options or walk you through the process.
Activate Your Services
To purchase a plan online, your vehicle must be active:
- Press the blue OnStar button to connect with an Advisor who can send you an invite, or
- Get in touch with your dealer who can send an invite
Review Your Plan
If you don’t already have OnStar:
- Sign in at your brand’s owner center, go to OnStar Connected Services, and select My Plans.
Renew Your Plan
- If your trial or current plan has expired (or is expiring soon), go to your Owner Center to renew.
- If you’re in a trial, your paid service will automatically begin once the trial ends, if you have purchased a plan.
Change Your Plan
- View available plans and add-ons in the Shop Plans section.
- Add your preferred plan to your cart and check out, or press the blue OnStar button to switch with an Advisor.
Cancel Your Plan
- To cancel, press the blue OnStar button and speak with an Advisor.
Tips to Remember
- Service plans can only transfer if the same primary driver keeps ownership.
- Plans included with a vehicle purchase stay with the vehicle if sold or traded in.
- If your vehicle is sold, traded, or totaled, call OnStar with your VIN and account details to update your status. Refunds may apply for unused plan time.
- Remember to always offboard your vehicle if it’s being sold or traded.
