How do I activate my vehicle with OnStar?

Activating OnStar in your vehicle is simple. Simply follow the below steps: 

  • Press the OnStar Blue Button to speak to an Advisor* for an invite or request your preferred dealer too. 
  • In the invitation e-mail you will have a link to begin the onboarding process. 
  • Complete the simple steps and accept the OnStar User Terms and Privacy Statement.  
  • If you’d like data, accept the Mobile terms too (in certain countries). 
  • On completion of this process, your vehicle will be activated.  

What do I do after activating OnStar?

You can then head on over to your, or Owner Centers and log in with your account information. Once logged in, you will see your latest vehicle profile, check the status of your vehicle’s health, stay up to date on your warranties, find plans and pricing, access Owner’s Manual, review helpful how-to content and more. We encourage you to download the vehicle mobile app from the App Stores by searching for myChevrolet, myGMC or myCadillac and use the same credentials to log in to be connected to your vehicle even when not in it.

How do I update/change my plans?

To review and edit your subscription plans, log on to your Owner Center account at, or or press the Blue OnStar Button to speak to one of our Advisors. 

What payment options are available for OnStar?

As an OnStar Member, you can pay for your plan annually or monthly using a credit card. 

Can I set up a monthly or annual payment for OnStar?

Yes. You can set up a monthly payment using a credit card (MasterCard, Visa or American Express). 

How do I enroll in Auto Renewal?

Sign up for a recurring plan, and we’ll automatically bill the payment method you have on file each month, ensuring uninterrupted OnStar service. To enroll in Auto Renewal, you need to buy a recurring plan and associate a credit card to your account. You can modify or remove your payment method from your account at any time by pushing your Blue OnStar button, or by visiting your Owner Center account. 

How can I cancel my plan?

As a Member you can cancel your subscription anytime through an online request or via the Blue OnStar button press to speak to an Advisor. 

How can I purchase plans?

You can conveniently use our self-service channels using the Owner Centers at, or Or speak to one of our OnStar Advisors who would be glad to help.
